Students need Authentic Reading
Students need the opportunity to read something besides "test passages." Authentic reading materials include published works that are typically encountered by students in daily life, such as in magazines, books or newspapers. They need mixed reading experiences with longer, challenging novels and works of nonfiction as well as "lighter" recreational reading.
